Man Mo, the world’s first contemporary Dim Sum restaurant officially opened its doors in January, 2014 in Hong Kong. The concept was to offer an alternative to authentic Cantonese Dim Sum by keeping the traditional way of making dumplings but integrating select western ingredients.
To create the perfect fusion we brought together a Dim Sum Master from Din Tai Fung and a Sous Chef from the famous restaurant Robuchon, the team then spent two months in the kitchen formulating and fine tuning the menu.
Once the recipes were perfected, providing the correct balance between the dough and the stuffing, we decided to add some color.
As Chinese people tend to drink tea whilst eating Dim Sum, what is traditionally know as Yum Chat, the restaurant is also serving up a selection of Kusmi Tea to give a modern twist to old Chinese fashions. On top of that we offer a range of our own original cocktails.
Man Mo is located at the heart of Sheung Wan, a trendy neighbourhood where local foodies, tourists and expats mingle.
The name of Man Mo Dim Sum is that of the celebrated Man Mo Temple located on Hollywood road, just a stones throw away from the restaurant.
